In a row of boys facing the north, A is $16^{	ext{th}}$ from the left and C is $16^{	ext{th}}$ from the right end. B who is $4^{	ext{th}}$ to the right of A, is $5^{	ext{th}}$ to the left of C in the row. How many boys are there in the row ?

B. Position of A from left = 16. B is 4th to the right of A $\implies$ Position of B from left = $16 + 4 = 20$. B is 5th to the left of C $\implies$ Position of C from left = $20 + 5 = 25$. C is 16th from the right end. Total boys = (Position of C from left) + (Position of C from right) - 1 = $25 + 16 - 1 = 40$. Hence, Option B is correct.
