How many days will the company take to complete the job if all the machines are used simultaneously?

  1. A.

    4 days

  2. B.

    4/3 days

  3. C.

    3 days

  4. D.

    12 days

Answer

B

Explanation

In 1 day, A does 13\frac{1}{3}, B does 14\frac{1}{4}, and C does 16\frac{1}{6} of the work.

Together in 1 day, they do 13+14+16=4+3+212=912=34\frac{1}{3} + \frac{1}{4} + \frac{1}{6} = \frac{4 + 3 + 2}{12} = \frac{9}{12} = \frac{3}{4} of the work.

Hence, time taken =43= \frac{4}{3} days.
