If $x > 2$ and $y > -1$ , then which of the following statements is necessarily true?

Answer

Given $x > 2 \implies -x < -2$ . Also $y > -1 \implies 2y > -2$ . Comparing $-x < -2$ and $2y > -2$ , we get $-x < 2y$ .
