If the total number of coins collected by A in 5 weeks is a multiple of 7, and the total number of coins collected by B in 3 weeks is a multiple of 24, then the minimum possible number of coins collected by A in one week is

  1. Coins collected by A in 5 weeks = 5×3k=15k5 \times 3k = 15k. 15k15k is a multiple of 7    k7 \implies k is a multiple of 77.

  2. Coins collected by B in 3 weeks = 3×4k=12k3 \times 4k = 12k. 12k12k is a multiple of 24    k24 \implies k is an even number.

Thus, kk must be a multiple of both 7 and 2     k\implies k is a multiple of 1414.

The minimum possible positive integer kk is 1414.

Minimum coins collected by A in one week = 3k=3×14=423k = 3 \times 14 = 42.
