Youth Demographics and Skill Advancement in India
CMAT 2025 · INE · Medium · Entrepreneurship
Given below are two statements: One is labelled as Assertion (A) and the other is labelled as Reason (R).
Assertion (A): As India moves progressively towards becoming a global knowledge economy, it must meet the rising aspirations of its youth. This can be partially achieved through a focus on the advancement of skills that are relevant to the emerging economic environment. Reason (R): 62% of India's population is in the working age group (15-59 years), and more than 54% of the total population is below 25 years of age. Our country presently faces a dual challenge of paucity of a highly trained workforce as well as non-employability of the large workforce of the conventionally educated youth.
In light of the above statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below :
- A.
Both (A) and (R) are correct, and (R) is the correct explanation of (A).
- B.
Both (A) and (R) are correct, but (R) is NOT the correct explanation of (A).
- C.
(A) is correct, but (R) is not correct.
- D.
(A) is not correct, but (R) is correct.
