    Rs. 15,000

  3. C.

    Rs. 18,000

  4. D.

    Rs. 16,000

Answer

B

Explanation

Total annual savings = 1,32,000   ⟹  \implies Total monthly savings = 1,32,00012=11,000\frac{1,32,000}{12} = 11,000. Ratio of monthly savings = 37:18  ⟹  37 : 18 \implies Total parts = 37+18=5537 + 18 = 55. Value per part k=1100055=200k = \frac{11000}{55} = 200. Savings of Amit = 37×200=740037 \times 200 = 7400, Savings of Bharat = 18×200=360018 \times 200 = 3600.

Let incomes be 5x5x and 4x4x, and expenses be 19y19y and 21y21y. 5x−19y=74005x - 19y = 7400 4x−21y=36004x - 21y = 3600 Solving these equations yields x=3000x = 3000. Amit's monthly income = 5x=5×3000=Rs. 15,0005x = 5 \times 3000 = \text{Rs. } 15,000.
