In a batch of 50 students, the ratio of Boys to Girls is 4:64:6. The average marks of Girls are 60 and the average marks of the batch are 62. The average marks of Boys will be:

Explanation

Let the number of boys be 4x4x and girls be 6x6x. 4x+6x=50  ⟹  x=54x + 6x = 50 \implies x = 5. So, Boys = 20 and Girls = 30. Total marks of girls =30×60=1800= 30 \times 60 = 1800. Total marks of the entire batch =50×62=3100= 50 \times 62 = 3100. Total marks of boys =3100−1800=1300= 3100 - 1800 = 1300. Average marks of boys =130020=65= \frac{1300}{20} = 65.
